Hollin’s Young Person’s Sure Start Flat
Are
you a young mum or dad under 25 years old? Do you have a
child or baby under 4 years old? Are you having problems
and don’t know where to go?
Then
help is at hand. Liz Hutchinson a Young Person’s Worker
is now based at 194 Hopwood Road, Hollin. She has already
helped several young parents with problems such as caring
for the baby, help with the gas and/or electric suppliers,
employment and benefits advice and much more.
There
is lots more happening at the flat. There is:

Dad’s
Group on
Mondays from 12.00—3.00 pm with Bob Fell, the Dad’s
Worker,
·
‘Bump to
Baby’ on
Tuesdays from 10.00—11.30 am for health advice on
pregnancy and pregnancy related issues from the Sure Start
Midwife, as well as baby weighing and help and advice from
the Sure Start Health Visitor.
·
The
Stop-Shop for
those of you wanting to stop smoking, every Tuesday from
11.30 am—12.30 pm.
·
Story
Time with Jo,
the Sure Start Library Worker, is on Wednesdays from noon
to 1.00 pm
·
Stay and
Play on
Wednesdays 1.00—3.00 pm and Fridays 9.30 am —12.30 pm
·
Drop-In
on Thursdays,
9.00 am—3.00 pm where there is a washer-dryer for your use
as well as a chance to meet other parents over a cup of
tea.
·
Teen
Scene for those
young mums and mums to be who are under 20 years old on
Tuesdays from 1.00—3.00 pm
·
Baby
Clothes and Small Toys SwapShop
every second Thursday from
1.00—3.00 pm

Hollin
Sure Start and Training Centre
The
new building for Hollin Sure Start and Training Centre is
well under way. Unfortuantely the proposed opening day in
November is still no longer on target. The nursery has an
estimated opening date of end January/early February,
2005. There will be plenty of new jobs, including Play
Workers, Nursery Workers, Cook and an administrator, so
keep your eye on the local press for the vacancies. They
will be advertised in the next month or so.

place for your under 4 year old in the Nursery just
contact the Nursery Manager, Carol Flanagan on 0161 654
6686 and she can give you more information and costs and
opening times.
